If you haven't yet made your reservation for JIM PACE, now is the time. He will be with us in just over a week! If you need to make your reservation, all you have to do is to reply to this email, requesting a reservation. Lecture will be $10 for Ring 130 Members and $25 for all other Magicians.Please note that Jim will be lecturing on a different day and location. October 22nd Event - HARRY ALLEN
HARRY ALLEN from Daytona Magic will once again be joining us with all his latest and greatest products on October 22nd. Please note that due to Harry's busy schedule, he will be joining us on the 4TH Thursday of the month instead of the 3RD Thursday of the month. Mark your calendars to show this!! As always, due to Daytona Magic's generosity in supporting our Ring, he will not be charging for this event, and, in turn, we will not be charging you. Get your reservations in quickly for this one, as this is always a "Standing Room Only" event. We will have some door prize drawings also, and lots of fun. Don't forget....if there's anything you would like Harry to bring to save on shipping, just give him a call, and he will be happy to do that. Halloween Shop at Jacksonville Beach
If you are looking to make your Halloween purchases, Jim Green (Mr. G.) has just opened up a Halloween Store at Jacksonville Beach, which will remain open through Halloween. Jim's son Chris will be running this, so stop by and say hi, and make your Halloween purchases from one of our own!! I hear tell that they are cheaper than the Spirit Halloween stores. The store is located at Pablo Plaza on 3rd Street, in the same shopping center as Office Depot and Marshalls. They are just a few doors down from Monkey's Uncle.
We have starting holding our first Tuesday of the month meeting at a Board Member's home. As a courtesy to the Member who has been kind enough to offer their house for this purpose, we would ask that you make reservations for attending this event, so that they can prepare their home for the number of people coming. An email will be sent out reminding you of these events, and requesting reservations. Exact location details will be given to you when you make your reservation. Please remember that if your RSVP that you are attending, and something comes up and you are unable to attend, YOU MUST LET US KNOW THAT YOU WILL NOT BE COMING, in order to avoid any unnecessary expenses or preparations by the person who has been kind enough to open their house up to you. The next first Tuesday meeting will be on October 6th, 2009
Please be aware that the first Tuesday meeting night is NOT replacing our third Thursday meeting and lecture night. This is an EXTRA night every month at the request of our Members.
DAVID GINN will be putting on his workshop on Saturday, January 30th, 2010. David's workshop will be from 10am until 3:00pm, and will break for lunch. The cost for the workshop will be $25 in advance and $35 the week before, if there is still space available, This fee will also include many materials. A paid participant can also bring along their spouse, partner, child or assistant at no extra charge, although only one set of materials are included per paid registrant. We have reserved a meeting room at the Best Western at JTB/Southpoint; the same location as the Jim Pace lecture, but in a larger room.
We are now accepting your advance payments for this event. Up until December 31st, we will accept payments in the form of checks or cash, but after January 1st, cash only will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to "IBM Ring 130", and can either be paid to a Board Member at any Ring event, or mailed to: IBM Ring 130, PO Box 51235, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32240-1235.
The Spencers Show in Jacksonville
Kevin and Cindy Spencer will once again be performing at the Florida Theatre in Jacksonville on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 at 7:30pm. Regular tickets are $25 each, and are already on sale through the Florida Theatre or Ticketmaster. The Spencers last performed in Jacksonville two years ago, and our Ring had a meet and greet with them after the show. Their show is recommended for those of you who didn't have the opportunity to see it last time.
November Cookout and Magic Show
We will again be hosting our hugely successful Almost Annual Cookout and Magic Show in 2009. The date is set for November 22nd, and will take place again at the Marron household. We will be looking to our Membership to perform at this fun event, so get your thinking caps on. More new to follow on this in September. More information to follow on this soon.
